BaseConnect launch as new networking platform for tech innovators in the Warrington area

Leading technology innovators from the Warrington area are flocking to join a new networking platform called BaseConnect, which operates from The Base in Dallam Lane, a 50,000 sq ft grade A home for SMEs.

More than fifty of them have already signed up for the platform, which brings people from ambitious, high-growth companies together to share ideas, experiences and advice.

And the team behind the initiative say they expect BaseConnect to grow to 200 members by the year end.

“Our tenants told us that they wanted a lively and informal networking platform for people involved in Warrington’s burgeoning tech and SME sectors,” said Sylvie Morton, business development manager of Langtree, who manage The Base on behalf of Warrington & Co.

“Warrington is thriving and its employers are ambitious for success. I’m not at all surprised by the enthusiasm for the idea,” she added.

The network is free to join for any business involved in the Warrington area and will be a platform where members can
• Become part of The Base community
• Check and register for events
• Keep up to date with news related to The Base and the sector
• Contact other members and network with them

Steve Park, the managing director of Warrington & Co, Warrington Council’s economic development partnership with the private sector, says that the town’s high performing economy can grow further – and that BaseConnect can play a key part in that.

“We’ve got the highest employment rate in the country and are just behind Manchester for our level of new business creation, but we can achieve more,” said Mr Park. “Facilitating growth through building networks and sharing best practice has been shown to work exceptionally well in places like London and Manchester and I know Warrington has the capability to match them.”

The next event for BaseConnect is on Thursday 26th January at 8am at The Base, with a discussion on cybersecurity from an Industry 4.0 perspective led by Jenny Williams, an expert from Titan, the North West regional organised crime unit. Directors of ambitious SMEs involved in the Warrington area are encouraged to attend by registering as a member of BaseConnect at and then reserve their place.
